Else Fischer-Hansen (1905-1996). Composition, oil on canvas, signed and dated “E F-H ‘48”. 35 x 30 cm. Craquelures. Pineframe.

Inscribed on the back “Fastelavn er mit navn boller vil jeg have hvis jeg ingen boller faar så laver jeg ballade”.

Provenance: Hans Scherfig (1905-1979) & Elisabeth Karlinsky (1904-1994).

Most likely signed and dated in 1948 but painted around 1943. Probably exhibited at “Fischer & Krarup”, Copenhagen, 1943. Cat no 2, 4, 12 & 20 with same measurements. See catalogue in photos.

This painting will be part of the 200 years anniversary exhibition on Gammel Strand in Copenhagen from 18/9 2025 - 11/1 2026. The painting is for sale but cannot be collected until after the exhibition.
